Joseph Daniel Smith, age 73

Joseph Daniel Smith, age 73, of Forest City, passed away Friday, October 30, 2015.

A native of Rutherford County, he was the son of the late Crawford Smith and Wretha McDaniel Smith. Dan served Rutherford County Schools for over thirty years as a bus driver and also as custodian for Ruth Elementary School where all the children loved him and Principal Mayberry depended on him for many things. He was also a long time member of Bethany Baptist Church.

He is survived and beloved by many cousins.

Funeral services were held in the Bethany Baptist Church with Rev. Chris Fox officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery.
