Joseph William DeTrano, age 80

Joseph William DeTrano, age 80, of Ellenboro, passed away Wednesday, March 23, 2016.

A native of Brooklyn, New York, he was a son of the late Joseph DeTrano and Louise Pisano DeTrano; a nurse, having retired from the Pilgrim State Hospital; a lifetime member of the Roman Catholic Church where he served on the Knights of Columbus; and a veteran, serving in the US Army.

Survivors include his wife, Marian Butterworth DeTrano of the home, a son, Joseph V. DeTrano of New York City, NY, three daughters, Carol Zazzarino and her husband Frnk of Farmingdale, NY, Debbie Omeis and her husband Kevin of Farmingdale, NY, Diane McDermott and her husband Tom of Babylon, NY, and a step-son, William Swope and his wife Reina of Mooresboro. There are 19 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at the Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church celebrated by the Reverend Father Herbert Burke and Deacon Andy Cilone. Interment followed in the Cliffside Cemetery with military honors accorded by the Rutherford County Honor Guard.
