Joshua Neil Mooney, "Josh", 25, of Belmont, Daly City, California, formerly of Shelby, passed away on Thursday, January 15, 2015.

A native of Cleveland County, he was born on January 21, 1989, a son of the late David Sherill Mooney and Sherry Grigg and husband Steven of Shelby. He was of the Baptist faith, a 2007 graduate of Crest High School and was a Dog Walker with Dogstar Dog Walking of San Francisco, California.

In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by his grandparents, Jim and Patsy Mooney and Ben and Jean Hollifield. In addition to his mother and step-father, he is survived by one brother, Tyler Mooney of Shelby; one sister, Heather Mooney of Shelby; one half brother, Chuck Mooney of Shelby; one half sister, Tonya Mooney of Shelby; his girlfriend, Kim O'Hara of Daly City, California.

Funeral services were held at The A.C. McKinney Memorial Chapel. Burial followed in the Trinity Baptist Church Cemetery.
