Joy Bailey Stacey, age 78

Joy Bailey Stacey, age 78, of Rutherfordton, passed away, Thursday, October 19, 2017.

A native of Rutherford County, she was a daughter of the late Hoyle Bailey and Johnnie Lois Hines Bailey, a former employee of Stonecutter and member of New Freedom Baptist Church. Joy enjoyed her role as an Air Force wife while her husband; MSgt. Haydon Stacey served his country for twenty-two years. She was preceded in death by four sisters.

Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Retired MSgt. Haydon H. Stacey of the home, a son, Darrell Stacey of Rutherfordton, a daughter, Marica S. Metcalf and her husband Alan of Forest City, a brother, Robert Bailey and his wife Judy of Rutherfordton, three sisters, Marybelle Henson of Ellenboro, Ann Snyder of Rutherfordton, Carolyn Souther of Ellenboro, five grandchildren, and six great grandchildren.

A graveside service was held in the New Freedom Baptist Church Cemetery, Columbus, NC, with the Reverend Paul Willis officiating.
