Keith Rex Michaels, 76 years old, a true soldier of the cross, went home to meet his beloved Savior on September 6th, 2014. 

He was a faithful servant, and today he is at rest, sheltered safely in the arms of God. Rex was retired from Henson Building Materials.

He joins a heavenly cloud of witnesses, including his parents, John Daniel Michaels and Eva Pearl Michaels of Burke County, NC. His first wife, Rowena Herman Michaels and his sister Dorothy Harris of Morganton, N.C., along with a host of the Bride of Jesus Christ.

Rex leaves behind his loving wife and faithful caregiver, Vera Gifford Michaels; His six children; Rexanne Greene and husband, Rev. Joseph Greene, of Rutherfordton, NC; Deborah Morgan of Marion, NC; Daniel Michaels of Union Mills, NC; Donna England of Forest City, NC; Kimberly Weeks and Husband John, of Pilot, VA; Sheldon Michaels and wife, Llarie of Rutherfordton, NC; Eleven grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren. Six brothers and sisters; J.D. Michaels and wife Barbara of Morganton; Virgil Michaels and wife Norma of Meadow Bridge, WV; Kenneth Michaels and wife Gullia of Columbia SC; Francis Hawkins and husband Chuck of Hickory, NC; Barbara Childers and husband Benny of Morganton, NC; and Theresa Howie and husband Mike of Morganton, NC; Brother in Law Buddy Harris of Morganton, NC; He also had a daughter of the Heart, Rebecca Hope Daisley of Rutherfordton, NC.

His final message to his family was “Just Meet Me There”. Receiving of friends was held at Bible Tabernacle Church, Rutherfordton, NC. A celebration of his life was held at the church. Rev Joseph Greene officiated. Internment was held at Eternal Hills Cemetery, Forest City NC. 

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Bible Tabernacle Mission Fund, 207 US 64 Hwy, Rutherfordton NC 28139, or to Hospice of Rutherford County, POB 336 Forest City NC 28043. 

Crowe’s Mortuary and Crematory is serving the family.
