Kevin Scott Brackett, age 25

     Kevin Scott Brackett, age 25, of Golden Valley, passed away January 10, 2015.

     Kevin was born at home, in Rutherford County, to Angie Young and Scott Eric Brackett.  He worked for Appeldoorn Landscape Nursery and was a member of First Broad Baptist Church. Kevin’s landscaping interest included growing Bonsai Trees and he also enjoyed fishing. He was always known for his big heart and his willingness to help others.

     He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Larry Brackett and grandmother, Gail Walker Young.

     In addition to his parents, survivors include step-mother, Claudia D. Brackett; step-father, Dale E. Moody; two sisters, Samantha Brackett, Julie Young Jernigan and husband, Brandon all of Bostic; two step-brothers, Benjamin Buchanan and Jacob Craig both of Old Fort, NC; step-sister, Victoria Craig of Bostic; grandmother, Wanda Brackett of Morganton; grandfather, Bruce Young of Bostic; niece, Mackenzie Jernigan; two nephews, Hunter Jernigan and Maddox Jernigan.

Memorial services were conducted at the First Broad Baptist Church with Reverend Robert Bradley officiating. Inurnment was held in the church cemetery.
