Kyle Busch is Officially Back

I will get to Kyle Busch shortly, but lets talk a little local baseball first.

Forest City tied its best week of the season so far, but they are still in last place in the Coastal Plain League West. The Owls (8-18) had a split decision winning three and losing three.

Spencer Henderson had a heck if a week. He is now up to nine hits, three triples and two homers for the season.

There hasn't been a lot of consistency, but hometown comfort maybe the best thing going for Forest City. They are 6-6 at McNair Field this season.

Legion Baseball

Rutherford County Post 423 needed wins this week. They only got one and that came in a 13-10 victory over Burke County. They were holding the eighth spot in the Area IV West Standings and finished tied for the spot this season. Post 423 (5-12) ends up backing into the playoffs and will more than likely play Caldwell County. Since Post 423 is the nine seed from the West and only seven make it from the east, they will be the eight seed from the east. Game two of the Series will likely play Thursday.

What is Michael Jordan thinking? I like Frank Kaminsky as a college player. The Hornets shouldn't have drafted him with Justice Winslow still on the board. I think Winslow makes the better NBA player. If the Hornets want to more competitive, more solid, they might want to look back at some of their recent draft picks. They must be listening to Knicks personnel. Lord knows they haven't made a good draft pick since Patrick Ewing.

NASCAR

The comeback is complete! We all knew Kyle Busch was going to win a race. To do so at Sonoma is quite a feat. Just four months ago, Busch lay in hospital with a broken leg and a broken foot. He came back to race in May and five weeks later, he makes it to victory lane in a Sprint Cup event.

There is no way anybody could make that kind of recovery and do what he just did. Nobody has been more motivated to win than Kyle Busch since the start of the season. Winning at a road course is extremely difficult, especially his case. The ability to focus and stay on track. Trying not to charge to hard into a corner of wheel hopping. The physical factor of quickly turning a car left and right, down shifting, up shifting. The car is bouncing around all the time. So, it's tough to do any normal circumstances.

Although, I don't believe that Kyle Busch should make "The Chase" considering he has missed so many races this season, he still has a chance with NASCAR waiver policy. Busch needs to get back into the Top 30 in points and with the win, would likely make the postseason. He sits 130 back right now of 30th. The only way he doesn't make the postseason with a win and making the top 30 in points is if there are 16 different winners that are ahead of him in points.

Indy Car

Once again, safety is a topic in Indy Car. This is the third time I have said something this year. Not that they do much racing anyways. Still, if they are going to attempt to put on a race, they have to be able to keep the cars on the ground, They have to be able to get safer quicker than ever. This past week at California, pack racing saw a couple of spectacular crashes. I urge that they do a better job of picking venues, but mostly working on the cars aerodynamically.
