Kyle Willie Davis 98, passed away June 19, 2018.

A lifetime resident of Cliffside, born to Verdie Jones and Gilbert Willie Davis on January 20, 1920; he is predeceased by on brother Swofford "Slim" and one sister Morea Scruggs, nephew Gene Scruggs and a devoted nephew Jimmy Davis. He also leaves a loving family behind that will miss his witty sense of humor and quick smile. Devoted niece and caregiver Kay Davis McClain and husband Dennis, their children Angle Quinn and fiancée' Marcus Greene, Robin Frady, Pam Davis and her children Christie Cole and husband Barry, Craig Davis, Dorothy Thrift, Cathy Angle and many great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.

A farmer by birth, Kyle took a job with Duke Power where he stayed until retirement. On December 23, 1944 he married the love of his life Virl Godfrey. The next 73 years were spent traveling, camping, fishing, thrift store shopping, loving his precious Boston Terriers, gardening and cultivating flowers. He especially loved the Outer Banks and considered it his second home. He was loved dearly by Jack and Mary Gray daughter Jaki and her son Jackson. Many years were spent together with them in Buxton, NC. Everywhere he went he touched peoples lives. He leaves a legacy of love, devotion, compassion, dignity and joy of life-a lesson for all!

Services were held at Eggers Funeral Home of Cliffside. Services were officiated by Ray Barnes and Rev. Larry Helms.

In lieu of flowers donations can be sent to Prospect Baptist Church, 2610 Prospect Church Road, Mooresboro, NC 28114 or Hospice of the Carolina Foothills Forest City, Box 335, Forest City, NC 28043.

Eggers Funeral Home of Cliffside assisted the Family.
