R-S Central nearly ended up playing for the 2A state title this weekend, but unfortunately fell to front runner East Davidson 49-43 in Greensboro during the final four.

The Lady Hilltoppers were down by just two with 30 seconds to play, but they were never able to tie or grab the lead. R-S Central (28-4) got a double-double from both Te'ja Twitty (14 points, 15 rebounds) and Kyra Davis (16 points, 10 rebounds) but Bailey Plummer (25 rebounds) and Madi Hall were too much in the end as East Davidson moves onto the finals.

Central actually could have been knocked out last Tuesday, but outlasted Smoky Mountain in double overtime to move onto the Final Four. Jada Logan had 23 points, while Davis ended up with 19.

Te'ja Twitty was the lone senior starter on the club and a board crasher in her own right. She led them all the way to Greensboro and ended her high school career as R-S Central's all-time leading scorer with 2,276 points. She also attained 1,538 rebounds and nearly 100 blocks as well. She was also apart of 75 wins. Congratulations to Te'ja and the Lady Hilltoppers for an outstanding season. Congrats to Coach Darius Fuller as well. He now has 201 wins over the last 11 seasons.

ACC Basketball Tourney

I don't think that there is any doubt, North Carolina is the team to beat. Virginia should make the finals, but I still have Carolina. Sleeper: I wouldn't be surprised if Virginia Tech made it to the semis since they are a hot team right now
