Larry Thomas "Booger" Hardin, age 67 of Forest City passed away Saturday, November 18, 2017.

He was a native of Rutherford County and a son of the late Ralston Lee and Gladys Green Hardin. He was a retired shipping clerk and a lifelong Baptist. He was a graduate of East Rutherford High School Class of 1968, and enjoyed hunting and golf. He played softball well into his fifties in local leagues as well as coaching girls softball for a number of years. He proudly served his country in the US Army during the Vietnam War.

Survivors include a son, Phillip Hardin and fiancée, Grace McCurry of Monroe, NC, daughters, Allison Mitchell and husband Chad of Faith, NC, Anna Hardin and fiancée, Chad Myers of Salisbury, a brother, Howard Hardin of Forest City, sisters, Doris Isaacs of Candler, Elizabeth Allred of Caroleen, Nancy Ramsey of Rutherfordton, Bonnie Lee of Forest City and Peggy Ponder of Bostic. There are also 4 grandchildren.

A graveside service was held in the Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery with Reverend Chris Bucy officiating. Military honors were accorded by the Rutherford County Honor Guard.

The Padgett and King Mortuary & Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
