Lee Daniel “L.D.” Upton, age 86, of Forest City, passed away Wednesday, November 16, 2011.
Services were held at Caroleen United Methodist Church.
Lee was born October 10, 1925 in Rutherford County, NC to the late William Upton and Carmie Flack Upton.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 11 brothers and sisters.
Survivors include his wife of almost 50 years, Betty Quinn Upton; two daughters, Star Coffey and husband, Michael of Forest City and Pam Waters and husband, Mark of Shiloh Community; one son, Bobby Upton and wife Anna of Spindale; one brother, Dwight Upton of Marion.
He is also survived by six grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, and four great grandchildren, Memorial donations are suggested to Caroleen United Methodist Church, POB 187, Caroleen, NC 28019 or to Hospice of Rutherford County, POB 336, Forest City, NC 28043.
