Lenda Jane Reavis Gurley of Rutherfordton, age 64

Lenda Jane Reavis Gurley of Rutherfordton, age 64, passed away on Monday December 17th, 2012. 

Lenda was a devoted and cherished mom and Grandma. “Mama” Lenda was also known by many as a loving and caring person, and to some, a second mom. Pure in heart, she gave selflessly of her time and attention to anyone who needed her. She was loved by all who knew her. 

Lenda Jane Gurley was the daughter of Helen Young Reavis and Glenn Reavis of Charlotte. She is predeceased by her parents, sister, Glenda (Glen Montgomery), and son, Barry Gurley, II (Laura).  She is survived by three brothers: Gary (Cathy), George (Brenda) and Andy (Tressa) Reavis. She is also survived by two sons: Michael Gurley and Jason Gurley. Surviving granddaughters are Brianna, Ciarra and Nevaeh Gurley. She is also survived by dearest friend, Tim Smith and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service was held at Crowe’s Mortuary and Chapel, 118 US Hwy. 74A, Rutherfordton, NC. 

Donations may be made to Lake Lure Baptist Church, 6837 US Hwy 64/74A, Lake Lure, NC 28746  in memory of Lenda Gurley and in thankfulness for the comforting and supportive ministry of Reverend Anton Roos.
