Ruth was the mother of four young-uns: Award-Winning Actress, Mary Elizabeth Guy; Retired Soap Opera Actress and Professional Model, Constance Lee Burton; Comedian and Doctor of Drugs, Christopher Eugene Chambers; and Author and Miss Teenage Memphis 1971, Belynda Gail “Stinky” Chambers. Ruth is survived by all four young-uns, twelve grandchildren and twenty-four great grandchildren. Her claim to fame is an intricate crocheted bedspread that she completed after forty years; testing no less than 397 chili recipes; watching every episode of The Andy Griffith Show at least 50 times; and perfecting The Biscuit. She loved music, especially, Elvis’ Jailhouse Rock. Ruth read The Bible every morning. She is the main inspiration for Stinky Chambers’ memoir, Unraveling Ruth.
