Link "Spud" Ambrose Ravan, Jr. age 78

Link "Spud" Ambrose Ravan, Jr. age 78, of Forest City, passed away on Thursday July 4, 2019.

Spud was born March 8, 1941 in Polk County, to the late Link Ambrose Ravan, Sr. and Mamie Cantrell Ravan. He retired from Pike Electric as a lineman. He loved the Lord with all his heart and was proud to be an American. Spud cherished his friends and family, especially his grandchildren. He was an avid enthusiast of dirt track racing a faithful member of Harris First Baptist Church, and retired Captain of Polk County Rescue Squad.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of fifty-two years, Linda Dedmon Ravan; two daughters, Tracy Waters (James "Tank") of Tryon and Tammy Herrmann (Craig) of Forest City; two grandchildren, one great-grandchild; a sister, Jan Gustavel of San Diego, CA; and a host of nieces and nephews.

The funeral service was conducted at the Harris First Baptist Church. Memorial donations can be made to Harris First Baptist Church Building Fund at P.O Box 182, Harris, NC 28074, or Hospice of the Carolina Foothills at PO Box 336, Forest City, NC 28043.
