Are you experiencing life?

   When I was in radio broadcasting, I was asked to do some pretty off-the-wall kinds of things.  But probably the strangest request I ever received and, being the dutiful employee that I was ever did, was to attempt to do play-by-play commentary of a July 4^th fireworks display.

   Now I know it sounds crazy, but that was the assignment.  I set up my equipment at a local July 4^th celebration and did a live broadcast.  I interviewed local persons enjoying the festivities.  I gave away records, T-shirts, and bumper stickers.

   Everything was going fine until it got dark enough for the fireworks display.  And then I knew I was stuck.  I described the “bombs bursting in air” the best I could, but I remember saying, “That was so beautiful, I can’t describe it.  You just had to be here to experience it.”

   You know, there are lots of times in life that you just have to be there to experience it.  You can’t describe how beautiful life is.  So get up and experience life today.  Be here!  And as you do, listen to life and make a positive life, not just a living.
