Got Friends?

Moving is stressful.  Finding a new house, starting a new job and taking a new license picture are all scary.  However, the hardest part about moving is finding new friends.  

I had lived in Atlanta for two months and was starting to adjust to my daily routine, but the only people I knew were the people I worked with and my roommate.  I spent some weekend nights cuddling with my dog and the remote. As outgoing as I am, I had no idea how to make friends without the safety net of a school environment.

All of that changed when one of my coworkers asked me to join her, her husband and their friends for a night out.  We were both nervous when the night started, but as the evening progressed, we found out that we were very similar and had a great time!  We’re now very close friends, with even her husband inviting me out on “dates” with them both.  I have never been more grateful for her courage in breaking that “work barrier.”

Today, work positive and make a new friend.
