Lydia Muriel Pearson Gosey, age 87, of Forest City, passed away on Thursday, November 22, 1931.

Muriel was born on August 30, 1931 the second daughter of Della and Broadus Pearson. She is predeceased by her two sisters, Doris Baber and Edith Wells. Muriel married Fred Eugene Gosey in 1949 and two years later they welcomed their only son Michael Scott Gosey on June 2, 1951. Fred passed away on February 19, 1993.

A lifelong resident of Forest City where she graduated from high school. She had been an active member of Goodes Creek Baptist Church for over 30 years and has blessed many through her organ playing. Muriel had many talents, and a varied professional life, including running her own successful business. Her unfailing generosity and kind heart has touched the lives of many who knew her. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and a wonderful mother-in-law, as well as a loyal friend who will be missed by all who loved her.

She is survived by son and daughter-in-law Michael and Vivian Gosey, and her three grandsons as well as her four great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother-in-law Bill Baber and a nephew, Barry Baber and niece, Nickie Hamrick.

A memorial service was held at Goodes Creek Baptist Church, Mooresboro.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested that any donations be made to Hospice of the Carolina Foothills, P.O. Box 336, Forest City, NC 28043 or to Goodes Creek Baptist Church, P.O. Box 720, Cliffside, NC 28024.

Harrelson Funeral and Cremation Services is serving the family.
