Margaret O. "Moe" Evans, age 94

Margaret O. "Moe" Evans, age 94 of Rutherfordton, passed away Wednesday, March 28, 2018.

Margaret was born July 31, 1923 in Bruce, WV and was a daughter of the late Arthur and Christina O'Dell and worked as a printer for Braceland Brothers Printing for many years.

She attended the First Baptist Church of Rutherfordton where she was active in various church activities. She also volunteered for Hospice, Habitat for Humanity, was a Pink Lady volunteer for Rutherford Hospital and a member of the Griffith Rutherford Chapter of the DAR. Margaret was a member and Past Worthy Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star in Summersville, WV.

Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Marshall L. Evans, three brothers and three sisters.

Survivors include her son, Marshall L. Evans and wife Linda of Rutherfordton, three sisters, Rosalie Ashley of Louisville, KY, Ruth Ann O'Dell of Summersville, WV, and Dollie Townsend of Charleston, WV. There are also three grandchildren, as well as four great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and many beloved nieces and nephews.

The family held funeral services in WV with burial beside her late husband in the Summersville Cemetery.

A memorial service will be held at 11 o'clock on Saturday, April 7, 2018 at the First Baptist Church of Rutherfordton with Reverend Tim Marsh and Reverend Dean Baughn officiating. The family will greet friends following the service.
