Margie Lee Packard born, January 17, 1928, was a teacher who helped generations of students. She passed away on Thursday, September 13, 2018.

She was the daughter of the late Buren Lee Packard and Florence Bostic Packard.

Margie was born in Cliffside, and was baptized at Cliffside Baptist Church where she was a member for many years, teaching Sunday School and singing in the choir. Later in life, she became a member of Sandy Run Baptist Church where she served as deacon for two terms. She was an active choir member and as a member of the Senior Citizens Organization.

Margie attended Cliffside Public School, Mars Hill Jr. College and Appalachian State University. She taught at Cliffside Elementary School and Dunbar Elementary School, serving in education for 42 years.

Besides her parents she is preceded in death by a sister Rachel Packard Condrey. Left to cherish her memories are cousins Elizabeth Sparks Earls, Paul Ray Sparks, Wayne Packard, Dan Packard and a special cousin and caregiver Tommie Sparks Moton plus members of the Bostic, Packard and Towery families.

Services were held at Sandy Run Baptist Church. She was laid to rest at Cleveland Memorial Park.

Eggers Funeral Home of Cliffside is serving the family.
