Marilyn Faye Greene Pressley, age 79

Marilyn Faye Greene Pressley, age 79 of Conover, passed away Friday, February 9, 2018.

Marilyn was born on June 9, 1938 in Rutherford County, and was a daughter of the late Thomas Wiseman and Lucy Penson Greene. She was reared in the Concord Baptist Church in Bostic and a graduate of Cool Springs High School Class of 1956. Marilyn was a longtime resident of Conover where she was the owner and operator of Conover Flower Shop in Conover and Claremont Florist in Claremont. A member of East Taylorsville Baptist Church and an associate member of First Baptist Church in Flagler Beach, Florida. A loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, her interests included her love of travel, shopping with her friends, and her dog, "Teke".

Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Robert Larry Pressley, a daughter, Regina "Gina" Pressley Hubbard and husband Charles R. Hubbard of Conover, a son, Robert Larry "Robbie" Pressley, Jr and wife Kimberly Mecimore Pressley of Taylorsville, a brother, Thomas "Bo" Greene and wife Sheila of Charlotte, a sister, Carol Greene Smart and husband Bob of Inman, SC as well as three grandchildren.

The funeral service was held the chapel of Catawba Memorial Park Funeral Home. Rev Jamie Steele, pastor of East Taylorsville Baptist Church officiated. Interment followed at Catawba Memorial Park.
