Martha Ann Ruppe Hardin, age 80

Martha Ann Ruppe Hardin, age 80, a former longtime resident of Forest City, passed away Thursday, November 19, 2015.

She was born May 4, 1935 in Rutherford County and was a daughter of the late Joseph Benjamin Ruppe and Ida Abi Greene Ruppe. Martha was a founding member of the Church of The Nazarene in Forest City. She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Norman Hardin, and siblings, Doris Gantt and Earl Ruppe.

Martha was a devoted Sunday School teacher and church officer for many years. She was also a long time employee of Scott Vending company before she retired and she loved baking, all types of arts and crafts, laughing and singing.

Survivors include two sons, Kimeron Hardin and son-in-law Brad Leary of San Carlos, CA, and Dale Hardin and his wife Jennie of St. Johns, Florida, as well as two grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, Mildred Bebber of Taylorsville, NC and Sybil Hollifield of Shelby, NC.

The Funeral service was held at the Forest City Church of the Nazarene with Reverend Wesley Brown and Reverend Dale Austin officiating. Interment followed in the Eternal Hills Memorial Park.
