Mary Ann Smith Mode, 77

Mary Ann Smith Mode, 77, of Forest City, passed away Tuesday, November 12, 2019.

A native of Rutherford County, she was the daughter of the late John M. and Anne Sims Smith. She was a member of 2^nd Baptist Church and retired from the Rutherford County School System serving in food service.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 61 years, Horace Mode of the home; son Anthony Mode and wife Lori of Morganton; daughter, Amanda Smith and husband Billy of Forest City; two grandsons; sisters Shirley Harmon of Newport News, VA, Faye Ward of Forest City; brother, Charles Smith of Rutherfordton.

Funeral services were held at Crowe's Chapel. Burial followed in Eternal Hills Memorial Park.

Crowe's Mortuary and Crematory is serving the family.
