Mary Dee Melton, age 92

Mary Dee Melton, age 92 of Forest City passed away Thursday, March 14, 2019.

She was born October 21, 1926 in Cleveland County and was a daughter of the late Carl Fred Melton and Mary Texie Owens Melton. She worked as a presser for Skyland Textiles for many years and retired from the Inspection Department at Absorba Textiles. Mary Dee was a lifelong member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church. She was a friend to all and a wonderful and loving aunt to her nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her brothers, Glen Melton, and Howard Melton, sisters, Ethel Melton, Gennieve Melton, and Mozelle M. Bailey. A niece, Diane Melton Bowen, and nephews, Dan Melton and Dennis Melton.

Survivors include sisters in law, Louise H. Melton, Cathy Melton Hoyle and husband Joel all of Forest City, as well as nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great -nephews.

The funeral service was held at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church. Interment followed in the church cemetery.
