Mary Ila Smith, age 72

Mary Ila Smith, age 72 of Shelby, passed away Tuesday, March 15, 2016.

She was a native of Cleveland County and a daughter of the late J. D. and Vernie Mae Waters Hamrick. Mrs. Smith was a Homemaker, a Baptist and a loving wife, mother, and, grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Smith in 2013.

Survivors include her daughter, Sherry Smith Foster and husband Tommy of Ellenboro, and grandson, Daniel Lee Foster and fiancée, Kasey McMurray also of Ellenboro.

Burial of her ashes was held in the Cleveland Memorial Park in Boiling Springs, NC. A family memorial has been established and may be sent in care of the family at 1281 Old US Highway 74 E, Ellenboro, NC 28018.
