Mary Lou Dobbins Owensby, 87

Mary Lou Dobbins Owensby, 87, of Rutherfordton, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 17, 2015.

Born November 17, 1927, she was a native of Rutherford County, and the daughter of the late James Weldon and Mary Willie Allen Dobbins. She was a homemaker and a member of Gray's Creek Baptist Church.

Left to cherish her memories are her daughters, Mary Elliott, Betty Byers and husband Donnie; sons, Thurman Owensby and wife Sheila, Robert Owensby and wife Ginny, Wayne Owensby and William Owensby; grandchildren, Beth Walker, Bryan Elliott, Bucky Owensby, Jonathan and Justin Owensby, Chris Byers; several great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Owensby, daughter Ann Owensby, and siblings Frances Dobbins Powell, Kenneth Leroy Dobbins, Joseph Junior Allen Dobbins, James Howard Dobbins, and Paul Reid Dobbins.

Funeral services were held at Crowe's Mortuary with Rev. John Godfrey officiating.
