Mary Lucille Buff, age 80

Mary Lucille Buff, age 80, of Ellenboro, NC, passed away Friday, February 21, 2014.

Born April 13, 1933 in Rutherford County, she was a daughter of the late Joe Fowler Adair and Molly Ida Price Adair.  Lucille’s life was consumed with taking care of her family.   She was a dedicated wife to her husband who served in the US Army for over twenty years and was a loving mother and grandmother.  She was a member of Hicks Grove Baptist Church and enjoyed cooking, flower gardening, drawing, painting and ceramics.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Joe Buff; two brothers, Joe Adair, Marshall Adair and two sisters, Frances Gowan and Margaret Phillips.

Survivors include her husband of sixty-one years, Elbert Buff; three daughters, Freda Lynch of Cashiers, Donna Waters and husband, Johnny of Ellenboro and Patti Bridges and husband, David of Bessemer City; two sons, Dale Buff and wife, Becky of Forest City and Matthew Buff of Ellenboro; brother, Elbert Eugene Adair and wife, Sharon of Forest City and sister, Emma Toms and husband, Jerry of Camden, SC. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were conducted at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel.  Interment followed in Hicks Grove Baptist Cemetery.
