Mary Lucy Bowen Yarbrough, age 82

Mary Lucy Bowen Yarbrough, age 82 of Ellenboro, NC passed away Thursday, July 16, 2015.

She was born June 25, 1933 in Rutherford County and was a daughter of the late James William Bowen and Mary Bell Roper Bowen. Lucy was a seamstress and worked for many years at the former Skyland Textiles Plant in Forest City. She was a member of Corinth Baptist Church and was a devoted mother, and a loving grandmother and great-grandmother. Her husband, Robert Hoyle Yarbrough and her daughter, Patsy Gail Yarbrough Luckadoo preceded her in death.

Survivors include her sons, Dale Yarbrough and wife Linda, Jim Yarbrough and wife Marian all of Ellenboro. There are ten grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held in the Corinth Baptist Church with Reverend Ad Hopper and Reverend Sam Henderson officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Rutherford County, Post Office Box 336, Forest City, NC 28043.
