Matthew Scott Lail, 19

Matthew Scott Lail, 19, of Forest City, passed away on Wednesday, May 15, 2013. 

A native of Cleveland County, he was born on October 27, 1993, a son of the late David Wayne Lail and Carol Chisholm Lail Womick and husband Robert Womick Jr. of Forest City. 

He was employed with the Town of Forest City Parks and Recreation Department and was a 2012 graduate of East Rutherford High School where he played Football. Matthew currently attended Isothermal Community College. He also attended Salem United Methodist Church.

In addition to his father, Matthew is preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Albert Ned Lail; his maternal grandfather, Larimer Lane Chisholm. He is survived by his mother and step-father, Carol Lail Womick and husband Robert Womick, Jr.; one step-brother, Robert Womick, III of the home; paternal grandmother, Patricia Lane Lail of Mooresboro; maternal grandparents, Ray and Kathy Schafer of Bostic; step-grandparents, Bob and Glenna Womick of Forest City; numerous uncles, aunts, cousins and life-long friends.

Funeral services were held at Salem United Methodist Church, Bostic with the Rev. Keys Pendleton and Laurie Knoespel officiating. Burial followed at Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery.
