Mavis Lynn Atkins Roach, age 59

Mavis Lynn Atkins Roach, age 59, of Rutherford Manor Apartments, passed away Tuesday, May 20, 2014. 

A native of Polk County, she was a daughter of the late Mary Price, and a homemaker who was known best as, “Maw-Maw Mavis.”

Survivors include a son, James Michael Roach of Rutherfordton, two daughters, Amy Caldwell and her husband Dean of Forest City, Mary Hoyle and her husband Jason of Bostic, two brothers, Floyd “Skip” Atkins, Calvin Atkins, and a sister, Phyliss Fowler, all of Polk County, six grandchildren, Rebecca Johnston, Brian Johnston, Cienna Hoyle, Jared Roach, Brielle Roach, Bryant Davis, and two great-grandchildren, Maddison Johnston and Marilyn Johnston.

Memorial services were held at the Community Worship Center in Spindale, NC, with the Reverend R.L. Jeffords and Evangelist Sharon Mason officiating. 

The Padgett and King Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
