PrintMelba Murphy Bridges 81 of Rutherfordton passed away on Friday, January 7, 2020.
Melba was born June 4, 1938 in Spindale, NC and is the daughter of the late Alfred and Alberta Scoggin Murphy.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Moody Bridges; a brother David and his wife, Karla Dunlap Murphy; and her sister, Sandra Murphy Jennings and her brother-in-law Rev. John Jennings.
She is survived by her brother Sam and his wife Francine (Gaboriault) Murphy of Greenville, SC; and numerous nephews, nieces, grand nephews and nieces, cousins.
A celebration of Melba's life was held at Crowe's Funeral Chapel. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Rutherfordton, 246 N. Main Street Rutherfordton, NC 28139 or to your local animal rescue group.
Crowe's Mortuary and Crematory is serving the family.
