Michael Dale Splawn, age 49, of Forest City, passed away Monday, April 9, 2018.

Born January 26, 1969 in Cleveland County, he is the son of Margaret Sisk Splawn Lovelace of Forest City and the late Lemuel C. Splawn. He worked in construction for many years and was a past member Hicks Grove Baptist Church. Michael was a loving person and had a heart to help others. His greatest pleasure in life was spending time with his family and friends. Michael was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan and also enjoyed fishing.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by step-father, George Lovelace; grandparents, Lee and Fannie Conner Sisk and grandfather, Howard Splawn.

Besides his mother, survivors include a daughter, Austyn Nicole Splawn of Forest City; son, Jonathan Lee Splawn (Allie) of Bostic; one grandson; three sisters, Donna Splawn Thurman (Michael) of Forest City, Kim Splawn McCombs (Rick) of Forest City and Kristi Splawn Ciriello (John) of Charles Town, West Virginia; four brothers, Edward Lee Splawn of Bostic, Christopher Dwayne Splawn of Bostic, Brian Splawn (Betsy) of Charles Town and Jeffrey Dwayne Splawn also of Charles Town; grandmother, Mary Ellen Fortenberry Splawn of Rutherfordton; step-mother, Sherri Lee of Charles Town; special friends, Courtney Ellis, Tracey Duncan, Sonya Mode, Kali Thurman, Terri Clements and "Blondie". He is also survived by a host of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

The funeral service was conducted with Rev Dean Cox and Rev Raymond Byrd officiating. Interment followed in Holly Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.

Memorial donations are respectfully requested to Harrelson Funeral Home, 1251 U.S. Highway 221A, Forest City, NC 28043 to help defray funeral costs.

Harrelson Funeral and Cremation Services has been entrusted with arrangements.
