Mildred Skipper, age 96

Mildred Skipper, age 96, of Forest City, passed away Friday, November 3, 2017.

She was a native of Madison County and the daughter of the late Jake Franklin and the late Elma Shelton Franklin. She was a loving mother and grandmother, loved to do word search puzzles and was of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her husband Alfred D. Skipper, one daughter Rosa Lee Skipper, three brothers, two sisters and two grandchildren.

She is survived by: five daughters: Edith Morrow of Forest City, Alice Head and husband Don of Forest City, Betty Terry and husband Bill of Ellenboro, Christie Scruggs and husband Wayne of Mooresboro, Karen Causby and husband Dennis of Spindale. One son: David Skipper and wife Lisa of Green Creek. Two sisters: Roma Jean Turner of East Flat Rock, NC, Freda Gosnell of Marshall, NC. Nineteen grandchildren, Eighteen great-grandchildren, Thirty nine great-great-grandchildren.

The funeral service was held at McMahan's Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Jerry Ruppe and Reverend Dwayne Scruggs officiating. Interment was held at Rock Springs Baptist Church Cemetery in Rutherfordton.
