Mitchell Durwin Montieth, 62

Mitchell Durwin Montieth, 62, of Forest City, passed away Tuesday, June 5, 2018.

A native of Rutherford County, he was the son of the late Kenneth Ray and Marjorie Gettys Montieth. Mitchell was a retired ASE master mechanic and enjoyed flying airplanes.

He is survived by his wife, Karen Jarrett Montieth of Rutherfordton; daughter, Lauren Michelle Montieth of Alexandria, VA who was a recent graduate of Brown University; brothers, Wesley Steven Montieth of Carnegie, OK, Marcus Luke Montieth of Junction, TX, Gary Neal Montieth of Asheville, and Larry Montieth of Rutherfordton; aunts Nettie Montieth of Forest City and Helen Womble of Rutherfordton.

Graveside services were held at Adaville Baptist Church Cemetery, Rev. Monty Montieth officiated.

Crowe's Mortuary is assisting the family.
