Mr. A.C. Burgess, 88 of 283 Debby Lane, Rutherfordton, NC passed away Sunday, September 12, 2010. Services were held at Caroleen United Methodist Church. Burial followed in the Caroleen-Henrietta Cemetery with Military Honors accorded by the Rutherford County Honor Guard.
Mr. Burgess served our country in the U.S. Army-World War II, during the battle of the Philippines.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Mary Sue Burgess; his parents, Albert C. Burgess and Ella Sisk Burgess; 1 brother, Paul Burgess; and 3 sisters, Estelle Earley, Gladys West and Cleo Randall Ford.
He is survived by 1 daughter, Laverne Randall Frietze and husband William of Annandale, VA; 2 sons, Danny Burgess and wife Lynn of Spindale, NC and Randy Burgess of Forest City, NC; 7 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren.
