Mr. Donald Reid Simmons, 65, passed away on Friday, March 18, 2011. Services were held at Grays Chapel United Methodist Church. Burial was held in the church cemetery.
Mr. Simmons was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil Augustus Simmons and Lillian Hardin Simmons and his wife Linda Carol Shehan Simmons.
He is survived by six sons, Danny Simmons and wife Tammy of Rutherfordton; Donny Simmons and wife Petra of Virginia; David Simmons and wife Mandy of South Carolina; Jon Simmons and wife, Jamie of Mooresboro; Paul Simmons and wife Jennifer of Hendersonville and Jason Simmons and wife Rebekah of Spindale; two daughters, Donna Chovan and husband, Michael of South Carolina and Tammy Greene and husband, Hugh of Mooresboro; two brothers, Dennis Simmons of Rutherfordton and Randy Simmons of North Carolina; one sister, Sharon Dotson of Forest City; twenty-eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
