Mr. James Daniel Duncan, Sr. age 76

Mr. James Daniel Duncan, Sr. age 76 of Rutherfordton, passed away Sunday February 28, 2016.

A native of Rutherford County, he is the son of the late James Robert Duncan and the late Mamie Arrowood Duncan. James was a retired general contractor, a veteran of the U.S. Air Force serving during the Vietnam War and attended Second Baptist Church in Rutherfordton.

He is survived by his wife Marilyn Snyder Duncan of the home, one daughter Danette Brewer and husband David of Rutherfordton, six grandchildren and ten great grandchildren, one sister Reba Lawing and husband Jerry, two brothers Eugene Duncan and wife Pat, Norris Duncan and wife Elaine. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son James Daniel Duncan, Jr. and a daughter Patricia Mendoza.

Funeral services were held at Second Baptist Church with Dr. Keith Stephenson and Dr. Don McIntyre officiating. Burial followed in the Wilson Baptist Church Cemetery with military honors provided by the Rutherford County Veterans Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Rutherford County Hospice P.O. Box 336 Forest City NC 28043.
