Mr. James Edward White "Jim" age 78

Mr. James Edward White "Jim" age 78 of Rutherfordton, NC went to his reward on Thursday November 26, 2015.

A native of Union, SC, he is the son of the late Paul White and Vera Arrowood White Lawson. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one sister Betty Austin and one half-sister Karen.

Jim is survived by his wife Tommie Stone White, one daughter Heather Davis and her husband Alan; one son Thom White and his wife Amy; 2 grandchildren; 4 step grandchildren; 2 step great grandchildren; one sister Joyce Ivey and husband Dr. Rev. James Ivey; two half- brothers - Ricky and Steve White; a number of nieces and nephews as well as many friends and other relatives.

Jim served in the U.S. Air Force as an aviation draftsman, was an employee of Torrington/Fafnir Bearings for 35 years, a Master Mason, a member of Union, SC Masonic Lodge, enjoyed playing golf, woodworking, camping, and working in his yard. Above all else he was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who loved his family dearly.

Special thanks to Willow Ridge Rehab Center for all of the love and kindness shown to Jim's family and the wonderful care given to James. Also, special thanks to the Adult Life Care Center for the excellent care James received.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations to be made to Spindale United Methodist Church or to the Activities Department of Willow Ridge Rehab Center.

Graveside services with military honors provided by The Rutherford County Veterans Honor Guard were held at Rutherfordton City Cemetery. Rev. Ross O'Neal officiated.

A celebration of Jim's life was held at his residence.

Crowe's Mortuary is assisting the family.
