Mr. James Elwood Williams, 70, of Ellenboro, passed away on Monday, January 31, 2011. Funeral services were held at A. C. McKinney Memorial Chapel. Military honors provided by the Rutherford County Honor Guard.
Mr. Williams served our country in the US Army where he was a member of the 82nd Airborne, serving in the Dominican Republic. Mr. Williams is preceded in death by his parents, Woodrow and Lucy Majors Williams; his son, Gregory Williams; brothers, Gerry Jo Williams and Joseph Williams.
He is survived by his wife Joy Cooper-Williams; son, Mickey Williams and wife Carol of Ellenboro; daughter, Tracey Williams Crain of Rutherfordton; step-sons, David Cooper of Clarksville, TN, and Warren Cooper of Mooresboro; four brothers, George, Frank, Billy and Jimmy Williams all of TN; three sisters, Frances McArroy of KY, Joann Woods and Martha Willaims both of TN; four grandchildren and three step grandchildren.
