Mr. Ralph Jackson Jones, 86, of Fair Haven Nursing Center, formerly of Campfield Church Road, Bostic, NC passed away Monday, October 18, 2010. Services were held at Campfield Memorial Baptist Church. Burial followed in the church cemetery with military honors by the Rutherford County Honor Guard.
Mr. Jones served our country in the U.S. Navy – WWII having served in Normandy and Southern France.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Tom Vance and Cristy Watts Jones; 1 son, Paul Edward Jones; and 1 daughter, Elizabeth Ann Jones Rhodes.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Cordelia Taylor Jones; 1 son, Harold Edwin Jones and wife Karen; 5 sisters, Gladys Breedlove of Rutherfordton, Iva Lee Nellie Burnette and Ruby Ellen, both of Florida, Ola Mae Whigham of Columbia, SC, and Bobbie Jean Wagner of Tryon; 8 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren.
McKinney-Landreth Funeral Home, Cliffside, NC is serving the family.
