Mr. William “Bill” Griggs, 78, of Rutherfordton, NC passed away Friday, October 15, 2010. Services were held at Word of Faith Fellowship, Spindale, NC. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Mr. Griggs served three tours of duty in Vietnam, Sgt. 1st Class (retired) served as a helicopter crew chief.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Bessie Griggs; and his parents, William Claude and Lillian Morris Griggs.
He is survived by 2 sons, Billy Roper of Columbia, SC and Steve Roper of Rutherfordton; 1 sister, Shirley Franks of South Carolina; 3 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren.
