Mrs. Catherine Louise Eaker Callahan, 84, of Mooresboro, passed away Saturday, February 11, 2017.

She was born August 30, 1932 in Cleveland County, the wife of the late John Callahan and the daughter of the late Jeff Eaker and the late Bernice Henson Eaker. She was an active member of Trinity Baptist Church and was a former Sunday School Teacher. Catherine was a retired trainer at Cone Mills and enjoyed crocheting, reading and coloring. She was very devoted to her family, her church family and was a deeply compassionate, spiritual Christian woman. She will be missed by all that knew her.

Survivors include a daughter, Debra Callahan-Bailey and husband, Mitch of Mooresboro; two sons, Robert Callahan and wife, Pam of Shelby and Rodney Callahan and wife, April of Mooresboro; three sister-in-law's, Brenda Eaker, Nancy Steen and husband, Bobby and Melba Callahan; twenty grandchildren and great-grandchildren; many special nieces, nephews and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 38 years, John Callahan; a son Larry Callahan; a brother James Eaker and a sister, Jean Hutchins

A funeral service was held at Trinity Baptist Church with Pastor Mike Frazier officiating. Burial was held in the church cemetery. In Lieu of flowers memorial donations may be directed to Hospice of Cleveland County, 953 Wendover Heights Dr., Shelby, NC 28150 or the Building Fund of Trinity Baptist Church, 746 Trinity Church Rd., Mooresboro, NC 28114.

Eggers Funeral Home of Cliffside is assisting the Family.
