Mrs. Frances D. Scoggins 84

Mrs. Frances D. Scoggins 84 of Forest City, NC passed away November 11th, 2012.

Frances was born Jan 27th 1928 in Spartanburg County to the late Fred and Margaret Davis.  She was preceded in death by her husband George (Junior) Scoggins.  Frances worked for many years as part owner and secretary for West End Auto Parts and Fred’s Service Station, then for 20 years as a teller at First Union/Wachovia Bank.  

Left to cherish her memory are her children: a daughter Debra Yager and husband Bruce of Forest City, a son Gene Scoggins and wife Alice of Rutherfordton.  Three grandchildren; Michael Tesseneer wife Lora, Christy Caldwell husband Brad all of Rutherfordton, and Stephen Scoggins of High Point, NC; four Great Grandchildren Hayden Tesseneer, Vivien Tesseneer, Kinsley Caldwell and Kallan Caldwell. A sister Doris Giles of Lilburn, GA, and a special sister-in-law Lynette Jones of Shelby, NC.

    The family received friends Wednesday November 14th at Spencer Baptist Church. Funeral services followed with the Rev. Billy Vaughn and Rev. Bruce Caldwell officiating. Interment followed at Eternal Hills Cemetery, Spindale NC.  

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Spencer Baptist Church, Spindale NC, or to Hospice of Rutherford County, Forest City, NC.  The family would like to extend a special thanks to her special caregivers Becky McAbee and Susan Gillian.  Also a special thanks to Carolina Community Care, and to Hospice of Rutherford County for the excellent care of their mother these last few months.
