Mrs. Joan Dorothea Patton Doughty, 69, of Hendersonville, NC, passed away Sunday, June 26, 2011. Services were held at Montford Cove Missionary Baptist Church. Burial was held in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Doughty was preceded in death by her parents, U.V. and Louise Rumfelt Patton and 1 sister, Vera Patton Stevenson.
She is survived by her husband, William James Doughty, Sr. of the home; 1 daughter, Christine Braunesreither and husband Robert of Asheville, NC; 4 sons, William Doughty, Jr. and wife Miriam of Fairview, NC; Kevin Doughty of Asheville, NC, Matthew Doughty of Leicester, NC, and Steven Doughty and wife Angela of Duncan, SC; 2 brothers, Frank Patton and wife Kathy of Swarthmore, PA, James N. Patton of Asheville, NC; 3 sisters, Audrey Patton Brown and husband Arnold of Rutherfordton, NC, Frances Patton McAnally of Union Mills, NC, and Gail Patton Dugger and husband Charles of Marion, NC; 6 grandchildren; and special friend, Michelle Nelson of Asheville, NC.
