Mrs. Martha Gertrude Mathis age 72

Mrs. Martha Gertrude Mathis age 72 of Spindale, passed away, Sunday February 28, 2016.

A native of Rutherford County she was a former employee of Regtrol, a member of Piney Knob Baptist Church and a daughter of the late Everett Haynes and Molie Arrowood Haynes. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband John Henry Wishon, her second husband David Mathis and one son Travis Wishon.

She is survived by one daughter Kay Yancey and husband Bobby of Forest City, NC; one stepson Kenneth Mathis of Ellenboro, NC; two sisters Grace Lane of Rutherfordton, NC and Sarah Ruth Spence of Union Mills, NC. Martha is also survived by eleven grandchildren, four great grandchildren, two nieces and one nephew.

A memorial service was held at Crowe's Funeral Chapel with Rev. Rick Wall and Rev. Jerry Campbell officiating. Martha was laid to rest in Piney Knob Baptist Church Cemetery.
