Mrs. Mary Ellen Ervin Goode, 89

Mrs. Mary Ellen Ervin Goode, 89, of Mooresboro, passed away Saturday, May 7, 2016.

Born September 23, 1926 in Tennessee, she was the wife of the late Grady William Goode, Sr. and the daughter of the late Oliver Ervin and the late Irene Smith Ervin. She was a member of Gantt's Grove Baptist Church, where she was heavily involved and played the piano. A Christian woman who loved her church, she loved playing the piano, singing and was devoted to her family.

Survivors include her two sons, Grady W. Goode, Jr. and wife, Connie and Wayne Lee Goode and wife, Cissy; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one brother and two sisters.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband and two sisters.

A funeral service was held at Eggers Funeral Home of Cliffside by the Revs. Robert Land and Mike Frazier. Burial followed in Trinity Baptist Church Cemetery.
