Mrs. Peggy O. Pruitt, age 84 of Forest City, passed away Monday, January 2, 2017.
Peggy was born February 24, 1932 in Shelby, and was the daughter of the late Raymond W. and Ethel Lindsey Miller.
Peggy was a homemaker for most of her life and enjoyed sewing and preparing delicious meals for her family and friends. However, over the years, she also worked as a telephone operator, an Interior Design Consultant, and alongside her husband who was a Nationwide Insurance agent. She was known for her exuberant personality and cutting wit. Her and her husband Kenneth Odell Pruitt lived for many years in Kings Mountain, Tucker, GA, and finally in Forest City.
Peggy was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Kenneth. Survivors include a daughter, Constance Y. Pruitt of Atlanta, GA, a son, Kenneth (Jim) James Pruitt and his wife Jean of Greensboro, one grandson, Sister-In-Law Linda Floyd and her husband Curtis of Tryon as well as nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services were held at the Florence Baptist Church with Reverend Dr. Bobby Gantt officiating. Interment will be held privately for the family at the Western North Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Black Mountain, NC at a later date. Memorials may be made to Florence Baptist Church, 201 S. Broadway Street, Forest City, NC 28043.
