Mrs. Rubye Coffey Arledge, age 84

Mrs. Rubye Coffey Arledge, age 84, passed away Saturday, January 7, 2017.

Rubye was born February 18, 1932 in Rutherford County, the daughter of Horace Edward and Nancy Luanna Collins Coffey. She worked for Duke Power Company, where she made loyal, life-long friends. Rubye was a member of Tanner's Grove United Methodist Church, which she served dutifully and faithfully and also, developed many close friendships in Christ.

Rubye was preceded in death by her husband, A. Jervis Arledge, sisters Lucy Coffey Daniels, Mildred Coffey Hamrick, Amy Coffey Proctor, Dorothy Nell Coffey; and a brother, Howard Finley Coffey. She is survived by her son, Gilbert Ray Doggett as well as stepdaughters Elizabeth Arledge and Tracy Arledge Bowers. Rubye was a close friend and loving aunt to her niece, Nancy Ferguson, and she loved, and was proud of, all her nieces and nephews.

A private graveside service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Tanner's Grove United Methodist Church, 236 Tanner's Grove Rd, Forest City, NC 28043 or to Hospice of Rutherford County, P.O. Box 336 Forest City, NC 28043.
