Mrs. Sara Gertrude Smith Brooks age 75

Mrs. Sara Gertrude Smith Brooks age 75 of Ellenboro, passed away Wednesday October 12, 2016.

A native of Hillsboro, IL she is a daughter of the late Victor and Daisy Smith and the widow of Hugh G. Brooks. She was also preceded in death by siblings Betty Smith, Nancy Sanford, Sally Ketchum and Bud Smith as well as step-children Steve Brooks and Gail Giroux.

She is survived by her step-children - Linda Monteith and husband Ray, Chery Noffke, Bill Brooks and wife Phyllis; thirty-five grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren, nineteen great great grandchildren. A special thank you to Tanya Briggs who took such loving care of Sara during her long illness.

A celebration of Sara's life was held at Corinth Baptist Church in Ellenboro with Rev. Mike Conner officiating. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Rutherford County Hospice P.O. Box 336 Forest City NC 28043.
