Mrs. Sue Owens Earls Gettys, 97, of Rutherford County, NC passed away Saturday, October 2, 2010. Services were held at the A.C. McKinney Memorial Chapel, Cliffside, NC. Burial followed in Camp Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Gettys was preceded in death by her 1st husband, Richard Blaine Earls; her 2nd husband, Benny A. Gettys; her parents, Alonzo and Lillie Mae Lovelace Owens; and her brothers & sisters, Yates Owens, Lettie Owens, Thelma Williams, Pear Parker and Carrie Vel Stehens.
She is survived by 3 daughters, Cathy Corn and husband Houston, Mattie Scoggins and husband Bobby, all of Kings Mountain, NC and Alice Gettys of Shelby; 4 sons, Jim Earls and wife Lucy of Ellenboro, NC, Tommy Earls and wife Cathy of Shelby, Ben Gettys and wife Laurice of Tampa, Florida, and Raymond Gettys and wife Sandra of Kings Mountain; 24 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and 7 great-great-grandchildren.
McKinney-Landreth Funeral Home, Cliffside, NC is serving the family.
