Myrtle Reed Greenholtz, age 72

Myrtle Reed Greenholtz, age 72 of Forest City passed away Friday, May 26, 2017.

Myrtle was born January 1, 1945 in Brant Lake, NY and was a daughter of the late Ernest and Frances Bills Reed. She was a faithful member of Trinity Wesleyan Church in Forest City and she, along with her daughter, son-in-law and her late husband co-owned Foothills Family Campground since 1998. She had also previously worked in the cafeteria at East Rutherford Middle School where she truly enjoyed the students and her fellow co-workers. Myrtle was a faithful supporter of South Mountain Family Camp and was a true and devoted friend to those she met in life.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles E. Greenholtz, Jr. Survivors include a son, Stephen Wayne Greenholtz of Tryon, a daughter, Dawn Marie Hemmelgarn and husband Bill of Forest City, a brother, Bud Reed of Warrensberg, NY, a sister, Edith Reed of Forest City. There are also four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren as well as her very special friends, Susan Johnson and Naomi Hammond.

Funeral services were held at Trinity Wesleyan Church with Reverend Larry Seagers officiating. Memorials may be made to South Mountain Family Camp, c/o Linda Hardin, 202 Crawley Drive, Forest City, NC 28043.
